Longtime business partners and friends gathered around a table overlooking the Pacific Northwest

Formed in 2025. Built over many years.

Long-term owners growing a family of enduring businesses.

We partner with founders and leaders who care deeply about what happens next—to the company, its people, its customers and its reputation.

Our story

Officially new.
Built on shared history.

Carmali Holdings was formally created in 2025. The relationships behind it go back much further.

We are investors, business partners and longtime friends who have invested together, built businesses together and supported one another through different chapters of our lives. Over time, those relationships became more than a business network. We became a family.

Carmali is the formal expression of that history—and of a shared belief that good businesses deserve patient, committed owners.

Our ownership thesis

Own a good business.
Then keep earning the right to own it.

Long-term ownership is not a promise to leave everything unchanged. It is a commitment to understand what matters, invest with discipline and remain accountable for what happens next.

Growing a family does not mean making every business the same.

How we own

Steward first.
Build from strength.

We want each business to retain the character, relationships and operating strengths that made it successful—while gaining the support to write its next chapter.

01

Listen before changing

We begin by learning what the numbers cannot explain: the relationships, commitments and operating rhythms that make the business work.

02

Back capable leaders

We support management teams with clear decision rights, disciplined capital and the room to lead.

03

Invest with patience

A long horizon lets us strengthen people, systems and customer value without forcing every decision into the next quarter.

04

Stay accountable

Patient ownership is active ownership. We remain responsible for the culture, resilience and choices that compound over time.

What we look for

Quality, fit
and a shared future.

We are not trying to collect companies. We are looking to welcome the right businesses and people into the Carmali family on terms that allow everyone to build from a position of strength.

01

Enduring value

A good business with a clear reason customers choose it—and would miss it if it disappeared.

02

People worth backing

Capable leaders and employees whose judgment, candour and care are central to the company’s success.

03

A culture worth protecting

A reputation and way of working that should be understood before it is ever altered.

04

Sensible economics

Clear financial fundamentals and a structure that leaves the business strong enough to invest and adapt.

We value thoughtful conversations well before a formal sale process. No pitch is required.

For founders

A credible successor, not simply a buyer.

Price matters. So do employees, customers, culture, identity and reputation. We believe the strongest transitions respect all of them.

A founder deserves an owner who is candid about what will change, capable of owning responsibly and patient enough to build the next chapter.

“A cheque closes a transaction. Stewardship shapes what happens afterwards.”

Patient capital

Long-term does not mean passive.

A long horizon should increase accountability, not reduce it.

Customer trust compounds. So do culture, capability and capital allocation. We support management through difficult periods without normalizing poor performance, invest before every payoff is visible and act with urgency when the business requires it.
